Project Name: Cytokine collection using a microfluidic device.
Group Number: 28
Group Members: Arjun Bahl, Cameron Hinkel, Ben Jiang
Current status of project: We have decided on a preliminary project idea and have found a mentor. The project involves computer modeling of the diffusion of cytokines secreted from mesenchymal stem cells through a porous membrane, between a cell chamber and an artificial vascular network. Parameters would include device dimensions, pressure gradients, and membrane properties.
Work completed in the last week: We have met with Dr. Don Elbert and Dr. David Hoganson to discuss possible projects. We decided on working with Dr. Hoganson, a cardiothoracic surgical resident, on the microfluidic device.
Work planned for next week: Decide on the goal and scope of our project.
Anything needed from mentor/client or TA or instructor to continue work: Not currently.
